​The Wonderland Birds calendar began as a way to organize and share my favorite bird images from my ongoing photographic series, lovingly called The Wonderland Project, that will someday become a book of images and stories about the place I call home.

 

Flying, singing, calling, jumping, hopping, hanging, napping, sunning, bathing, eating, mating, or nesting, birds animate the landscape in such a magical way. Whether it is the intimate moments of preening and sunbathing, fast and dizzying moments of chase or foraging through tree leaves, or the incredulous moments of first encounters, I seek to capture my heart’s adventure of discovery and connection with my most favorite animal in nature, birds!
